ABOUT DONTE
Community advocate. Servant leader. A voice for families.
Donte Dominic Massey is a community advocate and servant leader committed to showing up, listening, building partnerships, and making sure residents have a meaningful voice.
Through leadership with the DC KinCare Alliance Community Board, Donte has advocated for kinship caregivers—grandparents, relatives, and other family members raising children—and helped elevate caregiver and youth concerns to District leaders and policymakers. His advocacy has included stronger caregiver supports, youth trauma services, aftercare resources, and reducing stigma around mental-health support.
Donte has helped organize and support community outreach, caregiver advocacy, tabling and resource events, back-to-school initiatives, and an Achievement Recognition Event celebrating children's academic and community accomplishments. He has worked to connect residents with nonprofit organizations, District agencies, service providers, public-safety partners, election officials, and neighborhood leaders.
His campaign priorities reflect that service: affordable housing, families and youth, seniors aging in place, transportation, smart neighborhood growth, public safety, and meaningful community engagement. He believes residents should be heard before major decisions are made and leaders must communicate, follow through, and report back.
Faith and family are central to Donte's life. He serves as a Deacon at Indian Head Worship Center and is the oldest of 11 children. He credits the leadership of God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit as the foundation that makes his service possible.
As a candidate for Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner 7D06, Donte is ready to bring his record of advocacy and service to neighborhood government—being accessible, connecting residents with resources, building productive partnerships, and fighting for practical solutions.
